Short Walk and Annual Public Meeting

We started with a 3½ mile walk.

It was a proper Spring day with 23 walkers setting off from the town for a short walk up Ted Ellis Way, past Lucy’s Meadow and on to Draytonhall Lane. After traversing a couple of quiet lanes, we walked through Rush Meadow (largely dried so without nearly as much mud as had been feared) and on the newly repaired boardwalk through the woods and up to Sandy Lane. From there it was back down the hill then up through the churchyard to end where we started, outside Church House.

We returned to Church House, which was booked for our Annual Public Meeting. Over tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits, we reviewed our activity over the preceding year, set out our financial position and discussed possibilities for the future.

There was good support for the variety of walks offered, both in terms of day/time and walk length. One item taken away by the committee was to look at how to communicate with non-internet users.
